FLAGSTAFF — The city of Flagstaff has named Jared Tolman as the new Library Director. Tolman and several other applicants participated in a recruitment process that included an extensive in-person interview process with internal and external stakeholders, as well as a meet and greet with the community. Tolman will begin work with the city of Flagstaff June 3, 2019.
Tolman was recently the Library Director of the Lake Region Public Library in North Dakota and served on the Lake Region Heritage Center General Board. He earned his Bachelors of Art in Family History and Genealogy from Brigham Young University, earned his Master of Library Science degree at Indiana University and has over 14 years of management experience.
Tolman, along with his Library Executive Team, will continue to handle all responsibility for our libraries’ functions and facilities, including the main library and auxiliary branches. He will also be accountable to the city of Flagstaff municipality, the Coconino County municipality, the Coconino County Board of Supervisors and the State of Arizona Board of Library Examiners.
