City of Flagstaff hosts Earth Day celebration on April 23

FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff’s Sustainability Office invites community members to a celebration of Earth Day 2022. The festivities are scheduled for Saturday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bushmaster Park (3150 N. Alta Vista Drive).

This year’s Earth Day event will be one to remember, featuring informational booths, food vendors, live bands, do it yourself activities, a sustainability scavenger hunt and free workshops on home electrification, rainwater harvesting and composting in Flagstaff. For detailed event information please visit https://flagstaff.az.gov/1439/Earth-Day.

Attendees are encouraged to leave personal vehicles at home and “Move Another Way”. Walking, riding a bike, or taking public transportation helps to reduce the impacts on the world around us. Mountain Line is providing free service in celebration of Earth Day 2022. Attendees can also stop by a Sustainability Office booth, share their experience using one of these methods and be entered into a special prize drawing. For more information about bus routes, download Mountain Line’s app https://mountainline.az.gov/rider-tools/transit-app/.

A community litter clean-up led by Arizona Conservation Corps (AZCC) will take place prior to the community celebration from 9-11 a.m. Volunteers should plan to meet on the east side of Bushmaster Park by 8:45 a.m. for a light breakfast and safety introduction before dispersing into nearby neighborhoods. To register for the clean-up and be entered into a prize drawing please, visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4babae22a4f8ce9-earth.
