City of Flagstaff announces Fourth Street Closure

FLAGSTAFF — Fourth Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from the I-40 bridges south to Warm Springs Trail on August 3, from 3 a.m. to 7 p.m. for ongoing work as part of the Fourth Street Reconstruction project. Soliere Avenue and Sparrow Avenue intersections with Fourth Street will also be closed.

During this period, access to Summit Park Condos will be maintained. Bicyclists and pedestrians will have continued access through the project site at all times on the FUTS trail and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project site.

The Fourth Street Reconstruction project contractor will use the closure to install a final layer of asphalt pavement. The closure allows the completion of paving and will reduce ongoing impacts to Fourth Street before the reopening of school. Traffic restrictions will continue for several weeks following the pavement placement while pavement striping, valve adjustments, and final project items are completed.  Any project related comments or concerns should be directed to Jeremy DeGeyter, Capital Improvements Project Manager at 928-213-2706 or at jdegeyter@flagstaffaz.gov.
