FLAGSTAFF — The city of Flagstaff’s Community Development and Engineering Divisions in conjunction with the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce will host a listening tour with community partners starting in March. The meetings will be held twice per month with the goal of opening a dialogue with city customers about the development process and procedures to find efficiencies and improve the overall experience for applicants, owners and staff.
The listening session tour will engage a variety of community members who interact with development review staff with the goal of identifying and implementing changes that will improve efficiency and experience while maintaining community values represented in the city’s standards, as well as the health and safety of the community. Participants will be grouped with like professionals or a small group representing their company. The city will provide questions to participants prior to the meeting so participants can think about responses in preparation along with instructions on how the information gathered will be used. Topics will cover the review process, code and application requirements, affordability, incentives, concept and site plans, transportation, water and sewer impact analysis, plats, building permits and costs of doing a project in Flagstaff. The information received during this tour will be compiled and then shared with the Chamber of Commerce, participants and the staff of the city’s Development Oversight Team.
Interested parties who would like to be heard can email or call Community Development Director Dan Folke,dfolke@flagstaffaz.gov or 928-213-2630.
