FLAGSTAFF — Members of the Coconino Hispanic Advisory Council (CHAC) participated in a number of events in December as 2018 came to a close.
Events included the final Tri-Diversity Council meeting on Dec. 12; participation in the Northern Arizona University “Lumberjacks of Inclusion” ceremony held Dec. 13; the 2018 Community Holiday Party on Dec. 15 at the Murdoch Community Center; the recognition on Dec. 18 of members of the Coconino County Tri-Diversity Councils and Coconino County employees of their participation in the 2018 Flagstaff Holiday Lights Parade (Dec. 8); and the Coconino County Board of Supervisors approval the nomination of Ruth Eaton for a two-year term as chair on the Coconino Hispanic Advisory Council (CHAC) during a ceremony held on Dec. 18.
A CHAC retreat is scheduled for January 2019 to begin planning for the 2019 Cesar E. Chavez Community Recognition Celebration, support for the Flagstaff Nuestras Raíces Summertime Tardeada and other upcoming events.

CHAC members participated, above and below, at the Northern Arizona University “Lumberjacks of Inclusion” ceremony held Dec. 13 at the High Country Conference Center. “Similar to a convocation ceremony, Lumberjacks of Inclusion brings together and honors graduating students from all ethnic, cultural, identity, service and experiential backgrounds,” the university reported in a media release. “In this unique event, all students will celebrate together with shared performances, convocation ceremonies and special refreshments.” Photos above and below by Ruth Eaton ©2018.
