Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is participating in the Arizona COVID-19 Testing Blitz on Saturday, May 2. This statewide initiative aims to test up to 60,000 Arizonans for COVID-19.
The CCHHS testing sites locations are:
• Fort Tuthill, 2446 Fort Tuthill Loop, Flagstaff, AZ 86005: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• CCHHS, 2625 N. King Street, Flagstaff, AZ 86004: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Non-Filers VA, SSI recipients with eligible children need to act by Tuesday, May 5 to quickly add money to their automatic Economic Impact Payment; $500 for each dependent child. Click here for details.

Coconino County has installed a Wi-Fi hotspot allowing residents of Page and the surrounding areas to access internet without charge.
The hotspot is located between the Coconino County Health and Human Services Northern Region Office and Page Magistrate Court buildings at 467 Vista Avenue.
The Coconino County Board of Supervisors enacted a campfire ban, for Coconino County, during the board meeting on Tuesday.
The ban aligns with the United States Forest Service Southern Region campfire ban which went into effect on April 22 and includes all national forests in Arizona.
Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS) recommends taking precautions to protect yourself and your family from illnesses transmitted by insects and animals.
Summer in Northern Arizona can bring people in contact with mosquitoes, ticks, fleas, bats, skunks, squirrels, and mice. While these insects and animals are important to the Northern Arizona ecosystem, they can occasionally carry disease.
#2020Census results will inform decisions that will impact federal programs for the next 10 years. State CHIP and SNAP funding is established by census data for low-income individuals and families, including persons with disabilities and eligible seniors. Join us on Facebook for a Live Event in the Ceramics Studio! Dennis Ott will be leading a virtual tour of the ceramics studio and demonstrating the process for creating a Loving Bowl. The live demonstration on the potter’s wheel is the same one that is given on the first day of a Ceramics Class. Dennis will then walk you through the rest of the process involved in producing each Loving Bowl, including glazing and firing and packing it away till December when we sell them for $10.00 each benefiting multiple local non-profits.

The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is hosting a Virtual Town Hall for Spanish speaking families on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.

Coconino County health officials announced additional COVID-19
specimen collections sites will be available in Tusayan and Williams this week.
The Tusayan site, located at 1 Clinic Rd Grand Canyon, AZ, will operate on Thursday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Williams specimen collection site, located at 300 S 6th St Williams, AZ, will be open on Friday, April 17 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A medical provider will be onsite at both locations and able to screen individuals for COVID-19 symptoms.
The Fort Tuthill specimen collection site will continue to operate Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A referral from a medical provider is required to be tested for COVID-19.

The Coconino Coalition for Children and Youth (CCC&Y) strives to prevent substance abuse and other negative outcomes in adulthood by understanding the effects of childhood traumatic experience and mobilizing community action. Research shows that Adverse Childhood Experiences, or ACEs, contribute to the likelihood of addiction. Sadly, however, Arizona ranks higher than the national average for children who have experienced ACEs. These can include childhood traumas such as abuse and neglect. In fact, according to the Arizona ACE Consortium, “It is estimated that nearly 70,000 children in Arizona have more than five ACEs.”
