Bubble Palooza earns Flagstaff’s Parks and Recreation an Award of Excellence

FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff’s Parks and Recreation Department received an Award of Excellence for its Bubble Palooza event from the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association (APRA).

The award was announced on Aug. 9 in conjunction with ARPA’s annual conference. Bubble Palooza won the 2017 Outstanding Program Award for a Community/Neighborhood Special Event, population size 25,001-100,000.

“We are ecstatic to be recognized at the state level,” said Community Events Supervisor, Claire Harper. “We strive to produce events that locals and visitors of all ages can enjoy.”

Bubble Palooza was held in Foxglenn Park on May 6, 2017 (International Bubble Blowing Day). The festival is a family-friendly event created to celebrate all things bubble related. Activities included bubble blowing contests, making bubble bath balls and the opportunity to experience the world inside a giant bubble.
