PHOENIX — The Associated Press, ABC15 and other media organizations are reporting that the Arizona Board of Regents voted Thursday to grant in-state tuition to DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) students.
The decision comes one day after a Maricopa County judge ruled in favor of the Maricopa County Community College Board which sought to grant DACA students in-state tuition.
ABOR was considering a proposal to charge DACA students 150 percent of the in-state tuition rate. Supporters of in-state tuition for DACA students opposed that option.
Students and community supporters in Flagstaff and statewide recently participated in rallies calling for tuition equality for DACA students at the state’s three universities including Northern Arizona University.
