This instructor led course provides a fundamental knowledge of wildland fire behavior, control techniques, and fireline leadership, along with an introduction to the Incident Command System and National Response Network.
This class covers material from, IS-100, IS-700, S-130, S-190 and L-180.
After completion students may qualify for “Red Card” status with the addition of fire service employment and successful completion of the Firefighter Pack Test.

Prerequisite FSC 233 or special consent of CCC Fire Science Program Coordinator.
This instructor led course provides an introduction to the function, maintenance and use of internal combustion engine powered chainsaws and their tactical wildland fire applications.
Field exercises support entry-level training for firefighters with little, to no previous experience operating a chainsaw.
Earn hands-on cutting experience in surroundings similar to real-world fireline situations.
