April 1 — NAU’s virtual film, critical discussion ‘The Rise of the Latino Vote’ hosted by Dr. José G. Moreno’

NAU’s Ethnic Studies and Somos Unidos to present virtual film, critical discussion “The Rise of the Latino Vote” hosted by Dr. José G. Moreno” from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April  1.

Join us as we examine how various U.S. Mexican and Latina/o Indigenous populations have been affected by current events. We will include the economic, health, social, and political impacts. In addition, the discussion is based on Dr. Moreno’s scholarly article published in the Journal of Global Indigeneity Vol. 5 Issue 1, 2021.

Dr. José G. Moreno, Ph.D., received his doctorate in American Studies and Chicano Latino Studies at Michigan State University. Currently, he is a fulltime senior lectur- er in Ethnic Studies and Sociology and the Ethnic Studies Program.

He has published various scholarly articles, book chapters, critical book essays, and book reviews on the Mexican and Latina/o experience.
