FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff has started construction on the Sunnyside Phase V-C Improvement Project on Third Avenue, Second Avenue, and First Avenue, between Izabel Street and East Street in Sunnyside. Work will include:
- New asphalt roadway
- New ADA-accessible sidewalks/ramps and curb/gutter
- Stormwater drainage improvements
- New water meters and fire hydrants
- Mailbox replacements
Work started this week, and the project is anticipated to be complete in late October 2016. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, with potential work on weekends.
Traffic delays and other construction impacts (e.g. dust, noise, heavy equipment, etc.) should be expected in the vicinity throughout the next five months. There will be temporary road restrictions and detours as needed to construct the improvements, but local traffic access will be provided for businesses and residents.
