Adult & All-Ages Events
Senior Coffee Hour. Flagstaff Public Library. January 8 at 10am Downtown Library Northwest Corner. Coffee and snacks provided! Meet at the Downtown Library on the second Wednesday of each month to drink coffee and chat about resources and topics for seniors. This month, join Megan McCoy from Arizona Alliance for LGBTQ2S+ Equity in Aging (AZALEA) to learn about its work on building inclusion for LGBTQ2S+ older adults.
Wily Writers. Weekly writing group. Every Wednesday at 6:00pm Downtown Library Northwest Corner. Make writing a habit with practice! With the use of prompts, time allotments, and group sharing, Wily Writers will learn more about their writing and support others along the way. You bring your writing tools and we'll bring the fun!
We now have a Puzzle Exchange Station! (Near Downtown Information Desk, around the corner from culture passes). Take a puzzle, leave a puzzle! :) This is a spot for community members to share puzzles with each other. Feel free to take a puzzle to keep or bring back for others to use!
Book Clubs
Book Banned Club. Slaughterhouse-Five. Tuesday, Jan 7th, 6:00 to 7:00pm Downtown Library Community Room. “Depraved, immoral, psychotic, vulgar, and anti-Christian." Join us to discuss the novel as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.
Thursday Night Book Club. January 9 @ 6PM Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand. February 13 @ 6PM Swim Home to the Vanished. March 13 @ 6PM Sing, Unburied, Sing. Pick up a copy of the book at the Downtown Information Desk and meet in the downtown community room!
LGBT+ Book Club 2025. The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. January 13th at 6:30 PM. East Library.
Southwest Reads Book Club. A Walk in the Park. January 22 6:00pm. Two friends, zero preparation, one epic odyssey through the heart of the Grand Canyon. 4th Wednesday of every other month Downtown Library Community Room.

Winter 2025 Storytimes at the Flagstaff Downtown Library. BABY LAP TIME Jan 14 - Mar 4 Tuesdays @ 9:15 am Enjoy songs, stories, fingerplays, knee bounces, rhymes and more with your infant. TODDLER TALES Jan 14 - Mar 4 Tuesdays @ 10:00 am Your toddler will delight in this special time for stories, songs, games and more. PRESCHOOL EXPRESS Jan 15- Mar 6 Wed & Thurs @ 10:00 am Surprises galore are in store when we get together for stories, songs and games. SATURDAY STORY STOP Year-round @ 10:30 am Come to a fun-filled morning of storytime for ALL ages. *programming pauses Mar 10-14 for Spring Break.
Friends of the Library
Become a Friend to the Library. How Our Group Helps? We raise money to help support our library system and their many programs. How Do We Raise Money? Membership Dues, Year-Round Book Sales, Special Annual Book Sale, Merchandise Sales, Generous Donations. We also host a special event for local authors. At this event, the Copper Quill Award is presented to a local author chosen by past Copper Quill winners. Benefits to You: Support your library, Early Access to Members Preview Day of Annual Book Sale, 25% off books being sold through Friends at the library.
Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more. Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
