Adult & All-Ages Events
Tiny Book Ornament Take-and-Make Kit. Create your own tiny book ornament to hang on your tree or holiday display this year! Kits available at the Downtown Library Information Desk, starting December 1st, while supplies last.
Game Night. First Wednesday of each month from 5 to 7:30pm. December 4th is at the East Flagstaff Community Library. Board games, multi-player card games, strategy games, social games, and much more!
Wily Writers, weekly writing group. Starting August 7th! Make writing a habit with practice! With the use of prompts, time allotments, and group sharing, Wily Writers will learn more about their writing and support others along the way. You bring your writing tools and we'll bring the fun! Every Wednesday at 6:00pm Downtown Library Northwest Corner.
Book Clubs
Poetry Book Club. Join us every other month to discuss poetry. Stick around (if interested) for writing exercises afterwards! December 5 @ 5:30 PM Time is a Mother. Pick up a copy of the book at the Downtown Information Desk and meet in the Northwest Corner!
Senior Book Club at the Joe C. Montoya Community & Senior Center. 3rd Monday of every month. December 16th at 1pm Hang the Moon by Jeanette Walls. Upcoming: Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty on February 10, 2025 (Special date due to President's Day).
LGBT+ Book Club 2025. The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. January 13th at 6:30 PM. East Library.
Southwest Reads Book Club. A Walk in the Park. January 22 6:00pm. Two friends, zero preparation, one epic odyssey through the heart of the Grand Canyon. 4th Wednesday of every other month Downtown Library Community Room.
Youth Events
Winter 2024. Storytimes at the Flagstaff Downtown Library. Saturday Story Stop. Year-round at 10:30am. Come to a fun-filled morning of storytime for ALL ages.
Teen Advisory Group. Help plan teen programs, earn volunteer hours, & meet new people! Ages 14-18. 1st Saturday of each month @ 2PM November 2nd December 7th. Downtown Library.
Friends of the Library
Become a Friend to the Library. How Our Group Helps? We raise money to help support our library system and their many programs. How Do We Raise Money? Membership Dues, Year-Round Book Sales, Special Annual Book Sale, Merchandise Sales, Generous Donations. We also host a special event for local authors. At this event, the Copper Quill Award is presented to a local author chosen by past Copper Quill winners. Benefits to You: Support your library, Early Access to Members Preview Day of Annual Book Sale, 25% off books being sold through Friends at the library.
Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.   Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
