Friends of Flagstaff’s Future (F3) — Flagstaff’s Draft Regional Plan Open For a 60-day Public Review

Flagstaff’s Draft Regional Plan
Open For a 60-day Public Review

The Flagstaff Regional Land Use Plan is an important policy guide for the Flagstaff Region: this region includes the City of Flagstaff and nearby county communities including Kachina, Mountainaire, Doney Park, and Bellemont. The Draft Regional Plan envisions the year 2045 and outlines the community vision for growth, housing, transportation, the economy, climate action, natural resources, open space, parks, water management, energy, and infrastructure.

The City of Flagstaff has released the Draft Plan for a 60-day public review through December 19. The Draft Plan is available online here bit.ly/RPpublicreview. Your review and comments on all or a portion of the Draft Plan are important!

Your comments on the Draft Regional Plan may be submitted online by clicking anywhere within the document. If you prefer to send a comment letter in addition to, or rather than commenting on the online document, please email it to sdechter@flagstaffaz.gov.

Hard copies are available for review at City Hall, the Coconino County Community Development Office, the Main Library, and the East Flagstaff Library. To request a take-home hard copy, please email sdechter@flagstaffaz.gov

The City has arranged multiple in-person opportunities to speak directly with City staff about any part of the Draft Plan during specially-scheduled “Office Hours” held most Friday’s from 11:00 am-2:00 pm. See the box below for those dates and locations or visit bit.ly/RPpublicreview.

The City has also scheduled four in-person topical Workshops where you can learn more about the Plan content, provide feedback, and talk to City and County staff:

  • Transportation –  Wednesday, November 13th, 6pm at the Public Works Yard (3200 W Route 66)
  • Environment and Recreation – Thursday, November 14th, 5:30pm at the Aquaplex (1702 N Fourth St)

A 40-minute opening webinar provides an overview of the Flagstaff Regional Land Use Plan and is available to view here: https://youtu.be/MOP7FtoHPEs

F3 participated in the Regional Plan Committee composed of about 20 Flagstaff and County citizens. The Committee met at least monthly over the last 10 months to provide input to the city and county on early draft versions of plan chapters.

F3 staff and Board are currently reviewing the 60-day public review Draft Regional Plan and we will be communicating more with you in the near future about the results of our review.

Thank you,

Michele James
