FLAGSTAFF — The Coconino County Recorder’s Office reminds early voters that their voted ballots must be received no later than 7:00 pm on Election Day, November 5. The recommended deadline to mail your voted early ballot has passed. Instead, early voters should drop their ballots off in person.
As of Monday, October 28, half the early ballots issued for the General Election have not been received by the Recorder’s Office. There is still time to get turn in your early ballot.
Voted early ballots may be dropped off in one of the ballot-drop boxes or at any of the Early Voting sites located throughout the county. For a list of Early Voting Sites and ballot-drop box locations visit the Recorder’s Voter services website at https://www.coconino.az.gov/3284/Voter-Services.
On Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, early voters may drop off their early ballots in the return envelope at any Coconino County polling location between 6 am and 7 pm.
Early voters need to remember to sign the outside of the return ballot envelope. If the ballot envelope is not signed the ballot cannot be counted. Arizona state law requires the voter to personally vote their own early ballot and to sign the early ballot return envelope. The early voter’s signature is used to verify the ballot was voted by the early voter and not someone else.
State law also states that an early ballot can only be dropped off by the voter, a family member, a household member, or a caregiver. No other person may be in possession of another voter’s early ballot.
