Community invited to share guiding ideas for new Flagstaff City logo

FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff invites the community to take a short survey to share ideas for a new City logo. The survey will ask respondents about broad concepts that will serve as inspiration for the design of a new logo, as it is crucial to the City that the logo design represents the history, culture, and values of the Flagstaff community as a whole. This survey is the first of several opportunities for the community to provide direct feedback on the logo project. To access the survey, visit flagstaf.az.gov/logo. The deadline to complete the survey is Oct. 25, 2024.

The Flagstaff City Council gave City staff direction to proceed with a redesign of the City logo in April 2024. The City is collaborating with the NAU VisualDESIGN Lab on the project wherein the NAU VisualDESIGN Lab is conducting the design work and the City has convened a small working group of diverse community members to provide guidance and oversight. The City’s working group consists of members from five different city commissions, each with a unique perspective and expertise. The represented commissions include the Heritage Preservation Commission, the Beautification and Public Arts Commission, the Employee Advisory Committee, the Commission on Diversity Awareness and the Indigenous Commission.

The NAU VisualDESIGN Lab is a collaborative learning space where students in the NAU Visual Communication program work with community members as active partners on innovative design solutions that help bring brand awareness to local non-profits and university organizations. It has a proven history of creating recognized and lasting logos for many prevalent organizations in Flagstaff, including Coconino County, the Flagstaff Festival of Science, and Flagstaff Shelter Services.
