AmigosNAZ staff reports
FLAGSTAFF — Someone said it was like speed-dating for candidates, with potential office holders rushing from one circle of chairs to another to spend about 10 minutes and meet with as many of the 150 audience members in attendance at the “Meet the Flagstaff City Council Candidates Forum.”
A small bell rung by David R. McCain meant that it was time for candidates to sprint to anther circle of chairs.
Damp weather outside didn’t deter the crowd that attended the event on July 24, 2014 at Flagstaff High School.
The forum was presented by Friends of Flagstaff’s Future.
Council candidates attending the even included incumbents Celia Barotz and Scott Overton, challengers Eva Putzova, Rhett Pepe, Jim McCarthy and Jeff Knorr.
Mayoral Candidate James Hasapis also attended the forum, while Marj McClanahan made the opening remarks for Flagstaff Mayor Jerry Nabours, who was unable to attend due to a previous engagement.
