Pride in Your Community. Monday August 14th from 6:30-7:30pm. Join the East Library and Robert Shegog, co-author of Wrestling with the Truth, as he shares his personal journey and his perseverance living in the closet with HIV while a public school teacher and successful wrestling coach.
Movie Tuesday: Toni Morrison The Pieces I Am. August 15th from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Downtown Library. Movie Description: Through a trove of archival material, evocative works of contemporary art, and interviews with Oprah Winfrey, Angela Davis, and Morrison herself, this documentary explores the inspiration for her writing.
Community Living Room with Owen Davis discussing creative music making through improvisation & experimentation. August 16th in the northwest corner of the Downtown Library from 6 to 7 PM.
Library Writers: Outlining 101. Learn methods of outlining that you can modify to fit your plot and your personality, no matter what genre you write! Saturday, August 19th from 3 to 4:30pm in the Downtown Library Community Room.

Banned Book Club: The Hate U Give. Tuesday, October 5th, 6:00 to 7:00pm. Downtown Library. Police brutality? Protests? Riots? "Pervasive vulgarity"? Join us to discuss the novel as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.

Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.
