Nancy Bihler
One of Nancy’s favorite specialties is designing and creating various styles of handmade chains made from fine silver, sterling, copper, and gold wire. It gives her great satisfaction to make every link perfect with “invisible” solder joints and to have the finished creation sparkle with a perfect polish. One of her trademarks is the handmade Roman or Etruscan chain, which was the first chain Charlie taught her to make. These chains date back to the 7th century BC. The foundation of her work is the custom, free form, unique cabs and her handmade chains.

Patricia Bohannon
Patricia Bohannon, is a visual artist, born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, who has always been blessed with and motivated by the God-presence within to create works of art. Patricia worked in the commercial art field as a graphic artist and sign painter, married and raised two children, and in 1985, went back to school and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Art Education from Chicago State University, graduating with high honors. After graduating Patricia worked as an Art Instructor for the Chicago Public School System. In 1994 she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she worked for the Fulton County board of Education. Since retiring in 2010, she spends her time creating art in multiple genres: Painting, collage, glass, ceramic, metal and glass. Khrystyna Kozyuk
“Being an observer first, much of my inspiration comes from the world around us. When traveling I find myself appreciating all that the new landscapes have to offer. Recently, my time has been spent exploring different traditions and cultures. From the vibrant colored powders thrown during India’s Holi festival to the rich pigments seen in Native American headdresses; I create pieces that offer an abstract approach to these and other wondrous occurrences in our world.

Using an oversized canvas and paint gives me the opportunity and space to experiment with a variety of colors, textures, and shapes. In learning different techniques, I am now using one that I have developed. Creating my own technique using liquid paint has afforded me the ability to put my own modern spin into each piece. My ultimate goal with my work is to open your eyes to the beauty that is around us by showing the viewer my feelings behind each piece.”

Susan Moody
Susan has studied with many nationally known glass teaching artists around the country in order to fully understand the glass fusing and kiln forming processes. She strives continually to explore and experiment with glass and to push the limits of this fascinating medium. The possibilities with color combinations and glass layering continue to inspire her. Her glass creations are truly “one of a kind.”

El Metro: Art & Wayfinding in Mexico City with Cristen Crujido
4-5pm with a wine reception following the talk
FREE

Culturally rich and chaotic, El Metro is a living entity—a lively and dynamic underground city. Distinctive in character, it offers around the clock sensory stimulation. From bustling food stalls and shops to public art, exhibitions, and impromptu concerts, Mexico City’s subway system facilitates conscious and subconscious emotive bonds and attachments. Since its inauguration in 1969, El Metro’s scenography continues to celebrate Mexico’s modernity and antiquity through architecture and art, particularly its stylized wayfinding signage¾an unforgettable graphic signature that continues more than a half century later.

Cristen Crujido holds a BA in Art History, and is currently pursuing an MA in Modern and Contemporary Art History with a focus on Mexico City’s public art. She has lived and traveled extensively throughout Mexico and has a passion for all things Mexican—from pre-Columbian and modern art to telenovelas and tacos. Cristen was previously the Director of Marketing & Public Affairs for the Museum of Northern Arizona. She now works at the City of Flagstaff as the Art Collections & Beautification Coordinator.
