Friends of Coconino County Parks Holds First Disc Golf Fundraiser
Thank you to everyone who supported the Friends of Coconino County Parks Disc Golf Tournament Fundraiser! The non-profit Friends of Coconino County Parks (FCCP) hosted their first disc golf tournament fundraiser on Sept. 24 at the Fort Tuthill Disc Golf Course. Over 100 participants enjoyed a blue-sky day and balmy weather and competed for cash prizes. The non-profit group supports Coconino County Parks & Recreation with efforts in land conservation, park development, volunteerism, and recreational activities.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will help support efforts to bolster parks and recreation amenities across the county. This past year, FCCP sponsored the City of Flagstaff’s Concert in the Park series and helped bring the concert to Peaks View County Park. FCCP also sponsored award prizes for the Coconino County Fair entries, with cash prizes for Best in Show awards in Agriculture and Horticulture, Fine Arts, Floriculture, Gems & Minerals, Home Economics, Hobbies & Collectables, Open Horse, Open Poultry, Open Rabbit and Cavy, Open Youth, and Schools.
The event wouldn’t have been possible without event sponsors, including title sponsor Findlay Toyota Flagstaff, and additional sponsors: Stackhouse Wealth Strategies LLC, Swire Coca-Cola, Great Circle Media, Thought Space Athletics, The Disc Shack, Continental Country Club, Diamond Auto Glass and Tint, 108 Excavating LLC, SR Overton Construction, Flagstaff Pro Rodeo, Satchmo’s BBQ, Oh Doggy Hot Dogs Flagstaff, REI Co Op Flagstaff, Aloft Disc Golf, Jester SxS, and R Entertainment and Pepsi Amphitheater at Fort Tuthill County Park. Be on the lookout for another fundraiser next year!
