Ensuring the Future of KinderCamp™
For more than 15 years, KinderCamp™ has ensured that hundreds of preschoolers were ready for that vitally important first day of school. That they stepped into their kindergarten classrooms confident and eager to learn. That they were prepared – academically, socially, and emotionally – to make their first school year a phenomenal success.

This signature program, which takes place every June in schools across northern Arizona, is how United Way of Northern Arizona is supporting early childhood development. It’s also a great reason to donate to UWNAduring the annual campaign going on right now.

Take a look at the smiling faces in this video to see the love of learning in action.

KinderCamp began in 2005 after a survey identified early childhood learning as a major concern in the region. The initial partnership between UWNA and the Flagstaff Unified School District has grown over the years to include school districts throughout northern Arizona, including Williams, Pinetop-Lakeside, Page and Winslow. Children are referred to the program, which is offered at no cost to families.

In addition to day-long classes in June, each KinderCamp instructor meets with the child’s parents or caretakers, providing them with a bag of school supplies, including a literacy kit with children’s books and learning activities.

The cost to run the four-week program is more than $600 per child, with anywhere from 100 to 250 children participating each year.

Please step up for your community with a donation to UWNA and show your support for KinderCamp. If you are a workplace donor, check with your employer about this year’s workplace campaign. You can also donate by clicking the button below.

Your investment will help ensure that the next generation is set up for academic success.
