The NAU Review — Celebrating Women’s History Month, what is happening in Ukraine, why you should travel solo and Lumberjack Champs (x2!)

Our community is celebrating the vital role of women in American history and present for Women’s History Month in March. In addition to the Martha Portree CSW Scholarship, NAU is hosting events throughout March to celebrate Women’s History Month with the whole community.

Lumberjack Swimming and Diving claim ninth straight WAC Championship

The Lumberjacks finished the 2022 WAC Championships in Houston with six gold medals, five silver and two bronze as they wrap up their record season with a ninth championship celebration. Sophomore Maddy Rey went three for three in individual events, earned three WAC gold medals and was crowned the champion of the 200 fly. Rey finished with her career-best time and claimed NAU’s second all-time top performance in the event, while topping the meet with 60 individual points.

NAU Track & Field sweeps Big Sky Indoor Championships for 12th time in school history

NAU swept the Big Sky Men’s and Women’s Championship team titles, winning their 10th and fourth consecutive respective conference trophies, rounding out their historic total of 24 and 15 trophies. The Lumberjacks also garnered the men and women’s Co-Most Valuable Athlete accolades, as well as the men’s Outstanding Performer award.
