I would like to formally introduce myself to all of the wonderful supporters of The Literacy Center. My name is Amanda Black, and I have been fortunate enough to have been chosen as the new Executive Director of TLC! I am delighted for the opportunity to lead TLC into a post Covid-19 era and look forward to getting to know each and every one of you. I would like to ensure you all that Dianna, who has been an excellent director for TLC, is very involved in my transition. We share a similar vision for TLC, and it is my goal to push forward and reestablish the wonderful programs that Dianna has begun. I am also excited to announce that the events from pre-Covid will be happening this year. We will hold Read between the Wines in October and the 25th Annual Mountain Spelling Bee will bee in April! More details to follow about these events in next month’s newsletters. I look forward to meeting the volunteers, learners, community partners, donors, and board who, along with staff, have made TLC the vibrant, thriving organization that it is, and I would like to invite you all to stop by and say hello!
