On Friday, NAU announced adjustments to the fall semester to extend the student move-in process and reduce in-person instruction at the start of the semester, using NAUFlex’s remote delivery to hold the majority of classes virtually for the first few weeks. In-person classes will begin on Aug. 31.

Using Monsoon, a high-performance computing cluster, NAU is participating in “folding,” which allows simulations of complex scientific processes to run in the background while computers are not in use. The worldwide Folding@home project is running protein modeling computations that help researchers learn more about how to cure or treat COVID-19.
