families during COVID-19 pandemic
With preschools and programs closed because of COVID-19, children and families are experiencing a gap in services. So, the Growing in Beauty Partnership Program team at NAU’s Institute for Human Development stepped in to help—adapting and finding creative ways to support Navajo Nation families of children with developmental delays. NAU research team sees major shift in relationship between state-by-state traffic and COVID-19 cases, offering insights into outcomes of lockdown policies

“In many states, traffic appears to be a leading indicator, increasing first, with COVID-19 cases rising after a delay of up to 11 days,” said professor Kevin Gurney, head of the NAU research group analyzing the data. Pawlok Dass, a postdoc in the School of Informatics, Computing, and Cyber Systems, is the lead research scientist on the project. Read more online.
