County adopts new office & building procedures
County services will remain available
Coconino County will be changing building entrance procedures and staffing to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. All county departments will continue to provide statutory and critical services. Starting immediately, the County office changes will lessen direct person-to-person contact to protect county employees and the public.
County employees who do not have direct interaction with the public will also begin telecommuting.
The public is encouraged to call county offices prior to entering a county building for procedures on face-to-face meetings and accessing services.

“Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time,” said County Incident Commander and Deputy County Manager Dr. Marie Peoples. “We share in this family’s grief and are deeply committed to doing all we can to ensure the health and safety of our community. We urge everyone to take precautions to protect themselves and their family including washing their hands frequently, staying home when they are sick and contacting a healthcare provider for medical guidance. “
To date, there have been 18 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Coconino County. COVID-19 can be a serious disease, especially in elderly populations and people with underlying health conditions.

Under Arizona Supreme Court Administrative Order 2020-48 and Coconino County Superior Court Administrative Order 2020-005, the court is modifying court operations to protect the public, court staff and the judiciary. Court Administration is working with State and County Officials to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and make changes to court schedules.
Due to recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Coconino County Health and Human Services, the Court is implementing proactive precautionary measures to reduce social interactions. The Court remains open but is encouraging individuals to delay any non-essential matters with the court. The Superior Court will be temporarily accepting motions to continue cases via email at coconinot36@courts.az.gov.
Individuals who need to pay a fine should mail the payment, pay online at: www.azcourtpay.com or in-person at any PayNearMe locations which can be found at https://home.paynearme.com/merchantlocations. People who are not able to pay due to financial hardship should call the court to work out a payment plan.

Public transit remains a critical lifeline during crisis events, connecting workers to the jobs that support community needs, and residents to health care and medical needs. In order to balance the need to protect Mountain Line employees while providing a vital public service the following changes will start on March 21:
  • Mountain Line bus and paratransit services will operate its weekend schedule seven days a week from March 21 – April 1.
  • All Mountain Line bus and paratransit services will be fare-free to reduce driver exposure by removing the contact point presented with the exchange and verification of fare.
  • Current Mountain Line passholders will be able to receive an extension on their pass for the period the system is fare-free. Details will be communicated as the fare-free period ends.
  • To promote social distancing for Mountain Line drivers, all riders will be asked to board and alight the bus at the rear doors. Anyone requiring the ramp can still board through the front door.
