Considering a career as a wildland fire fighter? Join us April 13 – 17 for FSC 233: Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior/Fire Fighter and Human Factors in the Wildland. You will be provided with a fundamental knowledge of wildland fire: behavior, control techniques, and fireline leadership, along with an introduction to the Incident Command System and National Response Network.

After completion of the FSC 233, students may qualify for the following:
- “Red Card” with the addition of fire service employment and successful completion of the Fire Fighter Pack Test
- FSC 243: Wildland Fire Chainsaws, offered 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., April 20 – 24.
FSC 243 is an instructor-led course that provides introduction to the function, maintenance and use of internal combustion engine powered chainsaws, and their tactical wildland fire application. The course includes field exercise(s) that support entry level training for fire fighters with little to no previous experience in operating a chainsaw, and provides hands-on cutting experience in surroundings similar to firelinesituations.
