The 2020 Viola Awards Gala

The Flagstaff Arts Council is pleased to hold the 12th annual Viola Awards Gala as a celebration of the arts and sciences of our Flagstaff community!
Join us on Saturday, March 7th of 2020.
Cocktail hour 5pm. Dinner and awards 6-9pm.

LONG-FORM IMPROV COMEDY WORKSHOP
LED BY GARRISON GARCIA – Starts TONIGHT!

Join Flagstaff Arts Council for a 6 week Long- Form Improv Workshop with Garrison Garcia in 2020! This workshop is designed to provide the participant with a thorough overview and foundational knowledge of longform improvisation concepts. Essential for beginners and experienced players alike, learners can expect a highly participatory and interactive experience, culminating in a student show.The sessions will run from February 12th to March 18th, every Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm. Participants must register to attend all six sessions at $200 for the public and 10% off for members.

ACTING FOR THE EVERYDAY WORKSHOP
LED BY DAWN TUCKER

Join Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival’s Dawn Tucker for a five-week workshop on best practices in communication. Those seeking to enrich their life through artistic exploration will find the class helpful in everyday matters, from speech giving to mediation to self-awareness. Acting empowers us to understand not just what we hope to convey, but what others perceive and, thereby, how to increase the effectiveness of our communication tactics.The sessions will run from February 4th to March 3rd, every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm. Participants must register to attend all five sessions at $145 for the public and 10% off for members.

WRITING WORKSHOP
LED BY JAMES JAY AND STACY MURISON 

Join Flagstaff Arts Council for a 3 week Writing Workshop with James Jay and Stacy Murison in 2020! This workshop is designed to help you get started on your long-awaited memoir project, regroup after setting aside a poetry project, or to take you to the next level in your writing.The sessions will run from March 28th to April 11th, every Saturday from 9am to 12pm. Participants must register to attend sessions at $175 for the public and 10% off for members.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR ARTISTS
Grant funding is available through the Arts Council. We provide funding for non-profit arts organizations, artists and other creative groups that produce art, culture and/or science programs that benefit the residents of and visitors to Flagstaff, Arizona.

NATIONAL MONUMENT ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAMS IN FLAGSTAFF

Leadership at Flagstaff-area National Monuments is interested in forming a working group to develop Artist-in-Residence programs at Sunset Crater, Wupatki, and Walnut Canyon.
