Dare I say it. Looks like we have survived winter. Time to put away the snow shovels here in Flagstaff. Just for that we will get another foot of the white stuff before May.
But Spring is officially here and the time has come to come out of hiberation. To help us, there are a number of upcoming events throughout the region, from thought-provoking “Immigration Awareness Week” film screenings and discussions at Northern Arizona University to the tunes of Malo, Tierra and War down south at Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde, the annual Fiesta de Mayo celebration in Flagstaff’s Sunnyside Park and Flagstaff Nuestras Raices’s annual participation in the Armed Forces Day Parade. And let’s not forget First Friday Artwalks in downtown Flagstaff, the upcoming Zuni, Hopi and Navajo festivals at the Museum of Northern Arizona and the 4th of July celebrations.
So get ready to shake things up and have a good time as we celebrate the rich diversity of people, places, food and events that make up Northern Arizona.

Me atrevo a decirlo. Parece que hemos sobrevivido el invierno. Es hora de guardar las palas para la nieve aquí en Flagstaff. Sólo por decir eso, nos va a caer otro pie de esa sustancia blanca antes de mayo.
Pero la primavera ya está aquí oficialmente y llegó el momento de salir de la hibernación. Para ayudarnos hay una serie de eventos en toda la región, desde las películas de la “Semana de la Inmigración” que invitan a la reflexión y los debates sobre el mismo tema en la Universidad del Norte de Arizona hasta los recitales de Malo, Tierra y War en el Cliff Castle Casino de Camp Verde en el sur del estado, la anual Fiesta de Mayo en el Parque Sunnyside de Flagstaff y la participación también anual de Nuestras Raíces de Flagstaff en el desfile del Día de las Fuerzas Armadas. Y no nos olvidemos del Paseo del Arte el primer viernes del mes en el centro de Flagstaff, los próximos festivales zuni, hopi y navajo en el Museo del Norte de Arizona y los festejos del Cuatro de Julio.
Así que prepárate para entrar en acción y pasar un buen rato mientras celebramos la rica diversidad racial, los lugares, las comidas y los eventos que dan vida al norte de Arizona.
