Shannon Anderson named Deputy City Manager

FLAGSTAFF — The city of Flagstaff has named Shannon Anderson as the new Deputy City Manager. Anderson participated in an open and competitive recruitment that attracted over 50 candidates.

Anderson has worked with the city since 2006. She started as a Human Resources Manager and was named the Director of Human Resources in 2008. Anderson will assume the position on July 1, 2019, taking the place of Interim Deputy City Manager, Kevin Treadway who will return to his position as the Chief of Police as originally planned.

“I am honored to have been chosen to serve as the next Deputy City Manager,” said Shannon Anderson. “I am looking forward to helping to lead this organization and assist in further building a strong team with pride in our city and the community we serve.”

Anderson has a bachelor’s degree in business management with a specialization in Human Resources from Arizona State University. She has been a certified Professional in Human Resources since 2000.

“We are excited to have Shannon fill the Deputy City Manager position; she is exceptionally qualified for the role” said City Manager Barbara Goodrich. “Her experience with the city and commitment improving the city’s services will enhance our commitment to the public. We are grateful to Kevin Treadway for his service in this position and wish him the best as he returns to the Police Department.”
