Flagstaff Community — Firefighter Mark A Sanchez Memorial Blood Drive set for May 21-24

FLAGSTAFF — The Flagstaff Community — Firefighter Mark A Sanchez Memorial Blood Drive will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21; 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 22; 6 p.m. Thursday, May 23; and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 24 at the American Legion Hall, 204 W. Birch Ave., Flagstaff.

The West’s Blood Supply is in such a CRITICAL need, elective surgeries that require blood are being cancelled in 12 states including Arizona as there is not enough blood available for non-life threatening situations. This will get even worse the weeks around the Memorial Day holiday.

Blood transfused into Hospital Patients can only come from non-paid donors at a blood drive like this or at one of our donation centers in the Valley.

United Blood Services, now known as Vitalant, is the sole provider to 100% of hospitals in Northern Arizona and Maricopa County, and 96% of hospitals in our state. Please help us save lives today with your blood donation!

Children like 7-year-old Flagstaff resident Avari, rely on the kindness of strangers to keep them alive! Avari needs a blood transfusion every month because of a rare blood disorder, Diamond Blackfan Anemia. Because her body cannot produce its own red blood cells, Avari will soon have her 81st blood transfusion.
