Request for Proposals now accepted for Frontiere Property

Coconino County Parks and Recreation issued a Request for Proposals (RFPs) for possible uses, management and operations of the buildings and immediate area (approximately 30 acres) of the 240-acre Frontiere Property at Rogers Lake.

The County seeks to contract with a professional operator(s) possessing the knowledge, experience and expertise to manage and operate a venue such as the Frontiere Property. The County is open to working collaboratively and creatively with public and private partners.

In May 2011, a donation of land and buildings was made to Coconino County by the estate of Georgia Frontiere. The property is located approximately 10 miles southwest of Flagstaff in a rural, unincorporated part of Coconino County. It is adjacent to Rogers Lake County Natural Area off Woody Mountain Road (FR231), and includes existing improvements totaling approximately 11,000 square feet of residential buildings, garage space and an approximately 7,000 square foot, 16-stall horse barn.

Northern Arizona University (NAU) College of Arts and Letters operated an Artist in Residency program at the site from 2015-2017. The site has also been used for outdoor recreation programs, weddings, business and other retreats. The area is set back from FR231 and retains a quiet, secluded atmosphere with views of the San Francisco Peaks.

The RFP includes a background and description of the property, facility details, other considerations, submittal requirements and evaluation criteria. Initial proposals are due on March 21, 2018.
