City Council 11/14 is PACKED!

What’s on the Agenda?

F3 Strongly supports  the historic stone building remain and be utilized to the benefit of the community.

F3 does not recommend a repeal of the Transect Code. This code has the potential to protect the character of our historic neighborhoods. It has certainly been abused by developers, but the Planning and Zoning Commission has been working very thoughtfully on amendments since last fall. We look forward to hearing their recommendations.

We will have feedback on all of the above items after tonight’s discussion.

You can email council, council@flagstaffaz.gov, or F3, dtucker@friendsofflagstaff.org to make your voice heard. You can also attend meetings at 211 E. Aspen at 6pm or live stream the council meetings HERE.

You can find more information and a complete agenda HERE.

Flagstaff’s First Climate Action and Adaptation Plan!

The city wants you to be involved.

The Flagstaff Climate Plan will be a community plan, informed by resident ideas and feedback. We want every resident, business, and neighborhood organization to have a voice in this plan.

We will host community events and open houses to learn what you want out of this plan, opportunities for climate action you see in your neighborhood, and concerns you have about climate change. Community events will start in January. Stay tuned to this page, or sign up for email updates below.

Welcome Emma!

Hi! I’m Emma McVeigh, formerly, the summer intern for F3. I am a cultivator of beautiful landscapes, as I came to Flagstaff four years ago from Anchorage, Alaska. My hobbies include hiking, yoga, and learning about traditional medicine and I️ am a canvasser and Volunteer Leader for Planned Parenthood. I am also extremely passionate about social and environmental justice and sustainability. I have a Bachelor’s degree from NAU in Public Health. For those of you who may not know, the field of public health differs from the medical field in that it focuses on the “upstream” approach to healthcare, focusing on preventing disease.

I believe that everything is connected to public health. From the pipes that carry the water we drink, to the number of parks in a neighborhood; everything determines a person’s ability or inability to live a healthy life. As I get more passionate about health and justice, I find my focus going as far upstream as I can, working with policies that reiterate the concept of health as a human right. F3 is involved in Flagstaff’s decision-making, and works to create and support policies that make Flagstaff more livable, and therefore, healthier.
