KNAU Insider prEview – September 1st, 2017
This Week’s Insider ePreview Is Brought to You By:
Chicago Symphony’s New Season

The fall season means so much to so many: nature’s harvest colors, migrating birds, the World Series. And on “Symphony Night” from classical KNAU, fall means another new season by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra beginning Labor Day.

Direct from Michigan Avenue in Carl Sandberg’s “city of broad shoulders,” CSO Music Director Riccardo Muti offers 14 programs showcasing one of the world’s great orchestras.

Through the season, Muti steps aside occasionally for visitors selected from the first rank of guest conductors. Masters such as Christoph von Dohnanyi, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Neeme Jarvi.

KNAU’s CSO season also offers a host of internationally-acclaimed soloists, from pianists Paul Lewis, Mitsuko Uchida and Semyon Bychkov to saxophonist Branford Marsalis. All your favorite composers will be there and we hope you’ll discover a few new ones along the way.

“Symphony Night” airs on Classical KNAU Monday evenings at seven and can heard online at KNAU.org.
