Flagstaff Arts Council update for Aug. 10

Hope + Trauma in a Poisoned Land
We are pleased to present to you Hope and Trauma in a Poisoned Land, the new art exhibition at the Coconino Center for the Arts.

I’ve seen many exhibitions at the Center during my ten years here. This features some of the most innovative and stunning art work I’ve seen in our space. Art work includes sculpture, paintings, photography, film, virtual reality, installation art, poetry, textiles, performance, and on Saturday night, edible art. Don’t miss this remarkable show!

Preview Night is this Saturday, August 12, 6-8pm, for Arts Council members and special guests. There will be a performance from the Death Convention Singers at 7pm along with other surprises. We’ll also feature live music by native flautist Fredrick Andrews, food by Twin Arrows, and a wine/beer bar.

The exhibition remains open through October 28. We encourage you to see this phenomenal show about a truly important issue for Northern Arizona. See below for a schedule of events.

Cheers,
