FLAGSTAFF — The Flagstaff community is invited to attend an important affordable housing discussion scheduled on Tuesday, June 27 at the Flagstaff City Council Work Session. The 5:00 p.m. meeting will be held at the Cogdill Recreation Center (Boys & Girls Club) at 301 S. Paseo Del Flag.
Due to limited parking at Cogdill a free shuttle service will be provided starting at 4:30 p.m. from the parking lot at 911 E. Sawmill of the Law Enforcement Agency Facility (LEAF) to Cogdill Recreation Center (Boys & Girls Club). In addition, this meeting was moved for the Murdoch Community Center (203 E. Brannen Ave.) to Cogdill Recreation Center.
The multi-site affordable housing project to be discussed on the City Council Work Session is agenda item “Disposition of Land for Affordable Housing Purposes.” The three City owned parcels that have been identified as potential sites for affordable housing are 3500 N. Fort Valley Rd., 3100 N. West St. and 700 E. This proposed solicitation responds to three Council goals and objectives:
- Increase affordable housing for renters and homeowners in Flagstaff.
- Pursue public-private partnerships that increase inventory of affordable housing stock.
- Encourage distribution of affordable housing throughout the community.
