FLAGSTAFF — On Sat Feb 18th at 9:00 am in the Killip Elementary Library we will be forming a new collective, “Keeping Flagstaff Together,” with the expressed purpose of working to keep members of our community from being deported.
Tucson attorney Margo Cowan will be here to talk about the very successful model that they have been using, “Keeping Tucson Together.”
As you’ve probably heard, ICE raids have been occurring at an alarming rate across the country with hundreds of people being detained in at least 6 states (I suspect more). This is no longer a “let’s wait and see what happens” situation, we need to take actions to protect our community. Protesting feels good but if we really want to have an effect we need to organize.
If you are interested in volunteering with “Keeping Flagstaff Together” please come. Also, please spread the word to others you know who may want to help.

Yesterday, Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos, a mother of two U.S. citizen children, was detained and deported while checking-in with ICE, after being a part of Arizona’s community for more than two decades. We are hearing from the community and partners that ICE has conducted raids across the country in cities like Austin, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Indianapolis, among others, and that these efforts are ongoing.
The President’s immigration orders have begun to terrorize our communities, and we need all communities and allies across movements to stand in defense of our immigrant brothers and sisters in this moment of fear. We must share information, know our rights, and come together in community.
Here’s what you can do:
1. Find a rally, vigil, or other activation in your area and stand with your immigrant neighbors and community.
