Response to the Trump Presidency: Our Call to Action
Dear F3 Friends and Supporters,
After taking a few weeks to recover from our shock over the results of the Presidential election, Friends of Flagstaff’s Future is ready to move on to action. We hope you are ready to join us!
Right now, there is much uncertainty about what the Trump presidency will bring. That uncertainty is provoking fear and anxiety among many of our community members, especially those belonging to marginalized groups that the President-elect threatened during his campaign.
We want you to know: we are with you, and we will stand with you as the next four years unfold.
None of us know yet exactly what we will need to do, but now is the time to get ready. We will keep you posted as we reach out to others in the community working on social justice issues and formulate a plan. We hope to create a network of resources for people who need them, strengthening the connections between the many great organizations and causes in Flagstaff so that we can achieve more for everyone.
If you want to be involved in this social justice work – either as an individual or an organization – please let us know.
In addition, our work to enhance environmental sustainability in Flagstaff is made all the more urgent now that any progress made by the federal government is likely to come to a screeching halt (or be reversed). We must take local action on climate change, on protecting our public lands, on stewardship of our natural and urban environment. F3 is committed to doubling down on this work, which we have done successfully for over 20 years. We look forward to working with our newly elected City Council on sustainability issues.
As always, we cannot do this work without your financial support. Please help us take on the difficult work ahead by making a donation today. Thank you for your support of Friends of Flagstaff’s Future. Together our community can rise to the challenges of the next four years and be stronger and better than ever before!
Sincerely,
Tory Syracuse
