PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH), will host the annual Arizona Housing Forum at the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort in Fort McDowell, AZ from August 21-23, bringing together hundreds of affordable housing and homelessness stakeholders committed to building an Arizona for everyone.
The 2024 Arizona Housing Forum provides an unparalleled opportunity for affordable housing and community development professionals to learn, network, and share ideas that create and improve housing and community development choices in Arizona.
“The Arizona Housing Forum is an important event for the state and all our community housing partners as we look for smart solutions to our housing needs,” said ADOH CEO Joan Serviss. “Coming together to share ideas, successes, and challenges and to learn from each other creates the bridge that gets us to those affordable solutions.”
This annual event attracts more than 500 attendees representing public and private sectors and showcases speakers and breakout sessions on innovations in housing, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) best practices, Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), and timely topics in the housing industry. The Forum’s theme, Homecoming, focuses on the joys of home and community, and learning from each other as we advocate for safe, affordable housing for all Arizonans.
“With our goal to build more affordable housing and prevent homelessness, the annual Housing Forum helps the state gather input from valued stakeholders on how to allocate our resources, especially state investments made under Governor Hobbs to the State Housing Trust Fund,” said Serviss.
Governor Katie Hobbs will share remarks with attendees during the opening plenary session on Thursday, August 22. Inspirational speaker Chad Porter will serve as the keynote speaker and share his own story of struggle and perseverance.
Afternoon sessions on Friday, August 23, will be open to the general public and allow for public commentary on the state’s Consolidated Plan, Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP), and plans for the 2025 Housing Trust Fund.
ADOH CEO Serviss will be available at the Forum to discuss initiatives and funding solutions to Arizona’s affordable housing shortage and vulnerable, unhoused populations. |
