Oct. 25 — City to host open house event for 2023 proposed charter amendments

FLAGSTAFF — Ahead of the Nov. 7, 2023 special election, the City of Flagstaff will host an open house event on Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at City Hall to provide information on the 19 proposed charter amendments that will appear on the ballot. Members of the public are welcome to attend the event to discuss the proposed charter amendments with City staff and ask related questions. Proposition 480 will not be discussed at this event.

The 19 proposed charter amendments that will appear on the ballot this November cover topics such as the amount of signatures City Council candidates need to qualify for the ballot, increasing the dollar amount of purchases that can be approved by the City Manager, and updating the City’s procurement policies. The full text of the proposed charter amendments, as well as the informational pamphlet mailed to all Flagstaff registered voters is available at flagstaff.az.gov/2023Election.

Residents are reminded that this election is a ballot-by-mail election only. There will be no polling places on Election Day. All registered voters in the City of Flagstaff will automatically receive a ballot in the mail approximately three weeks prior to the election. Individuals can register to vote online through the Arizona Secretary of State. Registration must be complete by Oct. 10, 2023 to be able to vote in the Nov. 7, 2023 election.
