13th Annual Viola Awards are now open!
Nominations will close December 31, 2020

2020 has been a year of uncertainty. Flagstaff’s creative sector met the challenges of this year and demonstrated incredible resilience while doing so. The 13th Annual Viola Awards, set to take place on Saturday, March 27, 2021, will recognize artists, educators, organizations and leaders who make positive contributions to the arts, sciences, and culture in Flagstaff. Nominations are being accepted until December 31, 2020.

Announcing the winners of the
#MaskResponsibly Art Contest!

The Flagstaff Arts Council is excited to announce the winners of the Please Stay, Play Distance & Mask Responsibly Art Contest.

34 entries were submitted to the contest from all over the state of Arizona. The entries submitted represented a wide variety of creative works including painting, drawing, dance, ceramic work, and even a music video. Of the 34 entries, 3 were youth entries.

First Place: Colin Kubarych, The Answerable Question
Second Place: Dawn Baker, Staying At Home At 73
Third Place: Rain Varney, PPEople
Youth Prize: Alyssa Williams, Make the Neighborhood Friendly

Requests for Proposals: Branding & Marketing

The Flagstaff Arts Council is seeking to engage a marketing firm to provide the following services: identity design, website development, brand activation strategy, and stakeholder education. We are pursuing these services to better fit our new 2020 mission, vision, and strategic plan.

Applications now open for the
COVID Recovery Collaboration Grant Program

The Recovery Collaboration Grant program provides flexible funds to support a project that addresses common needs or opportunities presented by the Coronavirus pandemic and economic recession.

Different than prior Art & Science fund project grant opportunities, proposed projects must include at least one project partner and the project must enhance the work or opportunity of multiple nonprofits or stakeholders.

Projects may be awarded up to $10,000. No cash match is required. Successful projects can include artmaking as well as practical capacity-building initiatives.
