Lerner research Helping kids walk: NAU engineer takes collaborative research into wearable robotics devices to Phoenix Biomedical Campus
Zach Lerner, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering, recently completed a study with researchers from ASU and UArizona that measured the effectiveness of a wearable device on a child with cerebral palsy. Use of the device led to better outcomes for every child in the study.
NAU Big Idea grant NAU partners with Mexican university to offer students a cross-cultural entrepreneurial experience
Students from both universities will participate in The Big IDEA, which presents teams with a problem related to financial inclusion and food insecurity in the region. The teams then will create a product or service to resolve that problem.

CHER professor Samantha Sabo, who led the research, said in tribal nations, CHRs are the backbone of health care delivery. During the pandemic, their contributions have become increasingly valuable.

The study, which the NARBHA Foundation funded and which includes a number of community partners, will look at ways to address the unique criminal justice needs in the county.
