FLYRS Summer Camp Still Has Openings

We still have the following openings in our summer camps:

Week 1: May 28-31 at Fort Tuthill – 1/2 day camp for 8-10 year olds
​May 28-31 In Town Camp – 4-5 and 6-7 year olds
Week 2: June 3-7 at the Museum Discovery Village – full day camp 8-10 year olds
June 3-7 Half Day In Town Camp – 8-10 year olds
Week 3: June 10-14 at Fort Tuthill – 8-10 year olds full and half day
June 10-14 in Town Camp – 4-5 and 6-7 year olds
​Week 4: June 17-21 at Fort Tuthill – full day 10-13, half day 8-10, and 6-7 year olds

June 17-21 Museum Discovery Village – Middle School and High School
Week 5: July 8-12 Half Day In Town Camp – push bike, 4-5, and 6-7 year olds
Week 6: July 15-19 Half Day In Town Camp – push bike, 4-5, 6-7 year olds, and 8-10 year olds

Volunteer Trail Work Days

We have so many great places to ride in Flagstaff thanks to all of the volunteers who have contributed their time and energy to work on trails. The last 2 years have witnessed tremendous growth in our trail network thanks to their efforts.

Please join us in trail work days. The Forest Service will be holding trail days every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month and FLYRS will be holding trail days at the Puente bike bark prior to each short track race and on other dates soon to be determined.

Upcoming Events in and Around Flagstaff

We will be at the MBAA race at Fort Valley trailhead this Saturday May 4th selling custom FLYRS gear including youth (and adult) gloves, hoodies, hats, socks, and more. Swing by our tent to grab some riding apparel and support FLYRS.

FLYRS Middle School Team Hiring Head Coach

The Middle School Team is currently hiring for a Head Coach. The Head Coach is payed a stipend and there are many other benefits involved in this key position for our flagstaff youth. The FLYRS Middle School Composite Team is where Middle School aged youth from different schools in Flagstaff come together to learn, grow, ride, race, camp, and make lasting friendships. It is the ultimate community and team environment in an individualized sport.

We have some bikes from the bike swap that we are looking to sell at good prices. All have been barely ridden and are in great shape except for the Marin which is brand new.

The FLYRS Show With Legendary Skills Coach Gene Hamilton

On the latest episode of the FLYRS show, Tyler interviewed Gene Hamilton from Betterride. Gene’s clinics are one of the longest running skills programs in the country. He has been coaching skills all over the world for 24 years.

In this episode they explore the importance of instruction, keeping your weight centered on the bike, Gene’s hierarchy of skills, Gene’s guarantee to make you a faster mountain biker, and much more.

We are looking for sponsors to partner with in 2024. Do you or your business want to join us in developing resilient, caring, and growth oriented youth through mountain biking? Sponsors help support our scholarship offerings to ensure we can eliminate barriers and create more access to mountain biking. Sponsors will gain exposure through all of our planned events and increased programming. Last year we were able to provide over $41,000 in scholarships thanks to our generous sponsors and donors.
