The Flagstaff Police Department Citizen Liaison Committee was formed following discussions with the community in early 2014 and is supported by a grant from the Arizona Community Foundation, the Flagstaff Community Foundation and the Forest Highlands Foundation.
Members will work to improve the communications process between the department and the community, encourage community members to submit complaints without fear of retribution and provide a proactive informational forum to address community concerns when incidents and issues arise. Founding members represented a cross-section of the community and included Roxana Cardiel De Niz, Scott Deasy, Jessie Dominguez, Deborah Harris, Pit Kolodinsky, Laura Longoria, Frank X. Moraga, Marianne Sullivan, Rose Toehe, Kevin Treadway, Walt Miller and Lina H. Wallen.
The committee holds quarterly informational meetings in various neighborhoods in Flagstaff. Previous community meetings have been held on Dec. 10, 2016 at the Murdoch Community Center; March 3, 2016 at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Cultural Center and June 22, 2016 at the offices of the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association Inc.
Please contact the committee if your group would like to host future meetings.
Citizens can communicate with the Flagstaff Police Department Citizen Liaison Committee via voicemail by calling (701) 428-1373. The Citizen Liaison Committee does not investigate complaints on specific incidents involving the police department or its staff.
