Movie & Discussion: Downwind. July 16th, 5:30-7:45pm Downtown Library Community Room. Hiroshima. Nagasaki. Mercury, Nevada? The latter was the site of over 900 nuclear weapons tests from 1951 to 1992. Join us for a showing and discussion of the documentary. Environmental Justice & B.I.P.O.C Communities series.
Tosho-Con 2024. Hosted by the East Flagstaff Community Library. July 17th. 4-6 PM. All ages. Tosho-Con celebrates Japanese culture through the expression of art, anime, martial arts, and stories. There will be crafts, games, martial arts demonstrations, and so much more!! This year's theme is Ninja, stealthily adventure forth this summer! Enter the Cosplay & Art Contest for amazing prizes!

Banned Book Club: The Outsiders. Tuesday Aug 6th, from 6 to 7pm in the Downtown Library Community Room. Gang violence. Drug use. Family dysfunction. Join us to discuss the novel as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.

Adventure Begins at Your Library 2024. LEGO Club. Mondays 1:30 - 2:30 PM June 24th July 15th. Ages 5 +. Flagstaff Downtown Library. We bring the LEGO! You bring the imagination!
Adventure begins at your library 2024. Paws to Read. Sign up to read to a real therapy dog! Come to Youth Services, in person, to sign your child up for a reading time. This program is for kids reading independently. June 12th - July 24th. Mondays 2:00 - 4:00pm, Wednesdays 1:00 - 3:00pm. 20 minute sessions. Downtown Library

Copper Quill Award
Whom shall I nominate? COPPER QUILL AWARDS FOR FLAGSTAFF AND ALL OF COCONINO COUNTY. COME ONE COME ALL NOMINATE YOUR PUBLISHED AUTHOR. WE PROVIDE AN AWARD TO THE WINNER. THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY ARE OPENING UP OUR COPPER QUILL AWARDS FROM FLAGSTAFF RESIDENTS TO ALL OF COCONINO COUNTY. YOU CAN OBTAIN A COPY OF THE APPLICATION FOR THE COPPER QUILL AWARD FROM YOUR LIBRARIAN OR OBTAIN IT FROM THE WEBSITE: www.flagstaffplubliclibrary.org/getinvolved/friends/copper-quill Please read the requirements on our website. After July first the emblem QR code will allow you to complete the application online for those of you who have a computer. Please read the requirements for submitting the application. Nominations are accepted beginning July 1st to September 30th.
