One Week Left to Enter the
#MaskResponsibly Art Contest!

Entries close August 9th at midnight

The Please Stay, Play Distance & Mask Responsibly Art Contest is hosted by the Flagstaff Arts Council in collaboration with the City of Flagstaff and Coconino County. This contest promotes creativity while social distancing, reflection on the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and drives awareness of important public health guidelines.All forms of art and expression are welcomed to enter. Entries can either promote safe pandemic practices such as mask-wearing, physical distancing, hand washing, sheltering in place, etc. or explore a theme of the entrants choosing as long as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic. Entries can include visual, performance, written, or any other form of creative expression. The competition is open to any Arizona resident. Up to one prize will be awarded to a qualified entry outside Coconino County.  There is a special prize for the best youth entry!

The Mask Up Responsibly Art Contest will run for four weeks from Tuesday, July 14, 2020 to Sunday, August 9, 2020. 1st place prizes will be $500, with 2nd and 3rd places receiving $250 and $100 respectively.  Youth 18 years of age and younger are eligible for a special Youth category with its own prize of $50.

Announcing the jurors for the
#MaskResponsibly Art Contest

We are excited to announce the five jurors for the #MaskResponsibly Art Contest! The jurors are made up of representatives from the City of Flagstaff, Coconino County, and the Flagstaff Arts Council’s Board of Directors.

Artist Opportunity: Traffic Signal Cabinets in Flagstaff!
The City of Flagstaff has announced a public art opportunity for artists, graphic designers, illustrators, and/or photographers for a pilot project to create designs for Traffic Signal Cabinets. The City of Flagstaff, through its Beautification and Public Art Commission (BPAC), advocates for the beautification, arts and sciences in Flagstaff and supports this project. This project is an opportunity to enhance the visual landscape by using traffic signal cabinets as canvasses.
