Adventure Begins at Your Library. Map Keepsake Box Take & Make Kit. Create a box for all your adventurous keepsakes & travel souvenirs out of recycled atlas maps! Instructions and maps are provided. Kits available at the Downtown Library Information Desk, June 1st-30th, while supplies last.
Beginner Technology Classes. Join us for a beginners series to learn everything you need to know to use a personal computer or technology at the library. All technology is provided for computer-based classes. Seats are limited and registration is required. Cyber Security Basics on Tuesday, June 4. Downtown Community Room at 2pm. By the Time They Came: African American Men of Arizona. Presented by Dr. Akua Duku Anokye. Explore the untold stories and accomplishments of African American men in Arizona, including George Greathouse, ASU football star; Dr. Eugene Grigsby, artist and professor; Judge Cecil B. Patterson; and Pastor Warren Stewart. Tuesday, June 4th, 6:00pm, Downtown Library.
Let’s Talk About Free Speech. When can the government restrict or compel expression, and why? Do free speech zones or obscenity laws violate the First Amendment? Should hate speech be protected, and if not, what counts as hate speech? Join us in a lively discussion about the meaning of and limits to Free Speech! Thursday June 6th at 6:00pm, Downtown Library.

Senior Book Club at the Joe C. Montoya Community & Senior Center. 3rd Monday of every month. June 17th at 1pm The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer. Upcoming: The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coates on July 15th.

Southwest Reads Book Club. Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey on July 24th.  Coming soon: No Spiritual Surrender by Klee Benally on September 25th. 4th Wednesday of every other month at 6:00pm Downtown Library Community Room.
Banned Book Club: The Outsiders. Tuesday Aug 6th, from 6 to 7pm in the Downtown Library Community Room. Gang violence. Drug use. Family dysfunction. Join us to discuss the novel as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.
Youth Events
Spring 2024 Storytimes at the Flagstaff Downtown Library. Saturday Story Stop. Year-round at 10:30am. Come to a fun-filled morning of storytime for ALL ages.

Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.   Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
