Flagstaff Bike Month Bingo. Pick up your bingo card at the Downtown Library! May 1-30, 2024.
Take-and-Make Kit: Book page wreath. Shape recycled book pages into cones or rosettes to create a stunning wreath! Instructions and supplies are provided. Kits available at the Downtown Library Information Desk May 1st to 31st, or while supplies last.
Movie & Discussion: He Named Me Malala. This documentary looks at the Taliban's attack on Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai for speaking out on girls' education. May 21st, 5:30-7:45pm in the Downtown Library Community Room. Rated PG-13 for thematic elements, disturbing images and threats.
The Knitting Hour. Want to learn to knit? Need help with a knitting project? Members of the Fiber Artists of Northern Arizona Guild are available to help! All skill levels welcome! Fourth Friday of each month 1 to 3pm Downtown Library Northwest Fireplace.
The Flagstaff Foundry presents: Simply Silly Shakespeare. Simply Silly Shakespeare is a delightful comedy full of Shakespeare-related songs, scenes, and hilarious interactive opportunities! All-Ages. Downtown Library May 25th, 11:00-11:45am Southwest Lawn.
Yes to Life: In Spite of Everything. Artistic Interpretations of Forgiveness. Registration Required for a series of three sessions. May 18th, 1:00-3:00pm, May 19th, 10:00am-12:00pm, May 25th, 1:00-3:00pm in the Downtown Library Community Room. Dr. Steve Smith will explore teachings about forgiveness and examine lived experiences in an artistic context. In the final session, attendees will have the opportunity to share the artwork they've created on their own.

Southwest Reads Book Club. Mesa of Sorrows by James F. Brooks on May 22nd. 4th Wednesday of every other month at 6pm. Downtown Community Room.
Thursday Night Book Club: The Undocumented Americans by Karla Cornejo Villavicencio. June 13 at 6PM. July 11 at 6PM Shutter. August 8 at 6PM The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store. Pick up a copy of the book at the Downtown Information Desk. Meet in the downtown community room or online via zoom!
Banned Book Club: The Outsiders. Tuesday Aug 6th, from 6 to 7pm in the Downtown Library Community Room. Gang violence. Drug use. Family dysfunction. Join us to discuss the novel as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.
Youth Events
Nature Tales: An Interactive Puppet Show. Willow Bend Enviornmental Education Center invites you to an enchanting nature-focused puppet show! Join us for a journey into the natural world through interactive performances and engaging activities suitable for the entire family. Shows are free and open to the public. Nature Tales ARTx Art + Ideas Experience Arizona Festival Showtimes: 5/22 (Wednesday) - 10:30AM at the East Flagstaff Community Library, 5/25 (Saturday) - 10:30AM at the Downtown Public Library, 5/25 (Saturday) 3:00PM at Heritage Square.
Flagstaff City - Coconino County Public Library Teen Volunteers wanted! The Downtown Library and East Flagstaff Community Library are looking for teen volunteers to help us with our 2024 Summer Reading Challenge, June 10 - July 26. Applications available in person & online at http://tiny.cc/teenapplication24   Due by May 31st.
