This Celebrate Sedona takes place from 4 to 6pm, featuring music by Mother Road Trio, food by The Cheesy Javelina, Demonstrating Artists, and a special performance by Aerialists of Hydrangea Sky Movement Arts. This free performance takes place along side a new Special Exhibition Jan Sitts: A Retrosopective, artist demonstrations, and more. Free to the Public, food and beverages for sale, 21 to drink. Celebrate Sedona takes place in Uptown Sedona at Sedona Arts Center.

The exhibit features specially chosen works bridging 40 years of her career and spanning a variety of media.

Jan Sitts, a well known artist-painter and teacher has influenced people all over the country with her unique style she created many years ago. After moving to Sedona, Arizona in 1986 she continued her style of layering painting then moving into abstraction. She has an impressive art background, along with studying at the Kansas City Art Institute and B.A, degree at Western Colorado University. She has been teaching art for decades and will be teaching again this May and November at Sedona Art Center. She has authored two books “Its in the Detail* and “Textured, Color, Feeling.”

Sedona Arts Center is one of Northern Arizona’s most well-established cultural organizations and serves as the creative heart of Sedona.
