Coconino County Announces Update on Candidates for District 2 Supervisor Vacancy

COCONINO COUNTY — Twelve qualified candidates have applied to fill the vacancy for District 2 County Supervisor following the recent resignation of former Supervisor Liz Archuleta.

The qualified candidates, who are registered Democrats and reside in District 2, are:

  • Abel Estrella
  • Anthony Garcia
  • Jacqueline Gencarelle
  • Thomas “Tommy” Hernandez
  • Carole Mandino
  • Jesus Molina
  • Chad Moore
  • Bill Pribil
  • Jeronimo Vasquez
  • Joe Washington
  • Albert White

The Board of Supervisors will review applications on Thursday, Feb. 11 during a special session at 6 p.m., and will conduct interviews in a public forum on Friday, Feb. 12 beginning at 8 a.m. The Board may select a candidate to fill the vacancy on Friday following interviews or choose to continue the process.

Public comment will be taken throughout the process. Comments can be submitted to the Board by completing the comment form at coconino.az.gov/2590/District-2-Supervisor-Vacancy. This is a limited appointment through the 2022 General Election. The successful candidate in the 2022 General Election will serve the remaining two years of the four-year term.
